That’s why Parent Training & Support is an essential part of every ABA treatment plan at Rinn ABA Consulting. Our goal is to help families in Northern New Jersey better understand their child’s behavior, gain confidence in the therapy process, and feel prepared to support their child’s progress between sessions.
Families beginning ABA services are often adjusting to a new diagnosis, learning unfamiliar concepts, and trying to decide how best to help their child. Parent Training & Support gives families a place to ask questions, receive guidance, and develop practical strategies with the support of an experienced BCBA.

A structured and supportive introduction to learning in a group! Exceptional therapists guide children through their “school day,” devoting ample time to group activities and 1 to 1 work (for fast-paced learning)

Understanding Builds Confidence
Many of the strategies used in ABA are based on understanding why a behavior occurs before deciding how to respond to it.
For example, if a child becomes upset when a favorite activity ends, our goal isn’t simply to help the child tolerate disappointment. We first want to understand what the child is trying to communicate or achieve, then build a plan that helps the child meet that need in a more appropriate and successful way.
As Parent Training & Support progresses, we gradually introduce the concepts that help explain both your child’s behavior and the reasoning behind the strategies we recommend. Parents don’t need to become experts in ABA, but understanding the process often reduces uncertainty, builds confidence, and makes it easier to support therapy at home.

Every family begins this process from a different place. Some parents already have experience with ABA. Others are learning about autism and behavior analysis for the first time. Some are ready to make changes immediately, while others need time to build understanding and confidence.
